I am new To OH! Surgery Date. Sept 30, 08

Hello CALI!  my name is Jason and i am about to have surgery! and I cant wait! time is dragging on! I cant lie I am very nervous about the surgery and everything after it! if you get a chance message me I would love to hear your stories!

Congratulations on your surgery approval.  I had my surgery on 7/17/08. I am very glad I made this decision and wish I would have done it 5 years ago when it was first mentioned to me.  I believe the nervious thing is normal.  All I could think about before was getting approval and then I was a little nervious. But I had faith in my doctor and his team and today I am about 60 lbs lighter.  You will love it...  Lori W

Hi there!  Welcome to the board.  This is a great place for you to come to to have your questions answered and to get support.  Trust me, you are gonna have a bazillion, maybe even more, questions after you have surgery.  Don't be afraid to ask them, no matter how small or silly they might seem.  Also, stick with the program that your doc gives you.  Make sure you get that protein in and drink as much water as you possibly can.

Another key component is th EXERCISE.  You are going to lost weight in the beginning whether you exercise or not.  You should still start an exercise regimen as soon as your doc says it is o.k. to do so.  It will become a life pattern/habit for you and once you are a couple of years out, you will see why it was so important.

Well, again congrats to you and I hope everything goes perfect for you.  We all are thinking of you and will make a spot for you on the loser's bench, even though you are a Steelers fan

Thanks all of you for the support! Its awesome how nice and supportive people are on OH. I have never had much support. I come from a family of skinny people who can eat all they want and never gain a pound! so its been my issue and mine alone! Its good to finally have Back up!.

I was exteremly nervous. But stay as calim as much as you can. I had my RNY surgery 8-13-08. All the people here are really nice and welling to lend great advice. I wish you the best and let us know when your home so we can still back you.

i just wanted to let you know when i had my date and had to wait for it i had so much energy and couldn't sleep much .. so i just kept busy .. i had my surgery on 7-18-08 so i'm doing ok now... just stay positive ok,,, let us know when your back,..and if you got anymore questions just ask... it's nice to be apart of the OH family...
